Modalities

The toolkit of a Naturopathic Doctor is diverse and adaptable. It encompasses numerous natural healing modalities such as nutrition, lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and more. This holistic approach allows Naturopathic Doctors to tailor treatment plans to each individual, aiming to restore balance and optimize health in a personalized manner.

Dietary Counseling: Food as Medicine. I work with you to find a way of eating that is enjoyable and incorporates diverse, whole foods.

Lifestyle Modifications: Lifestyle as Medicine. Our daily habits contribute to health promotion and prevention. I work with you to create sustainable ways to be consistent with habits that increase longevity and support optimal wellness.

Botanical Medicine: Plants as Medicine. Herbal plants have been used for years as medicines and more recently have clinical research providing evidence of mechanisms of action. I use herbal teas, tinctures, capsules, and topicals to address common concerns.

Homeopathy: Like cures like. Homeopathy is a system of medicine that uses the energetics of substance that induces certain symptoms in order to stimulate the bodies innate ability to overcome a similar pattern of dis-ease in the body.

Hydrotherapy: Water as Medicine. Hydrotherapy is a systematic application of water to promote healing and balance the organ systems. This can be used to support the immune system for acute and chronic infections and improve inflammation.

Mind-Body Counseling and Biofeedback: The Mind-Body Connection. Our nervous system controls our bodies response to our environment. Biofeedback is a way of measuring our bodies physiological responses via sweat glands, heart rate variability, and breathing rate to better assess our response to stress. Mindfulness techniques such as meditation, breath work, and counseling are used to create resiliency for the nervous system.

Craniosacral therapy: The healing power of touch. This is a light-hands on therapy that addresses imbalances in the system of the cranium and sacrum which house your nervous system. Craniosacral therapy can address pain, nervous system regulation, and promote balance to the system.

Physical Medicine: Movement as Medicine. Hands-on therapies that provide movement to your spinal system including Naturopathic Spinal Manipulations, Muscle Energy Stretching, and Visceral Manipulation to assist your body and assist movement in a variety of ways and alleviate pain.

IV Nutrient Therapy: Nutrients as Medicine. Intravenous therapy is a way of delivering high dose nutrients to your system, without passing through the liver and digestive system. When appropriate, we use nutrients to support the immune system and stimulate the body’s innate ability to heal.
